My very first overnighter on a coach!
I made this journey because I thought going by rail is unreliable especially during Saturday mornings so I went down to Leeds overnight to connect with another coach to Carlisle by Flixbus (as there wasn't a direct bus or coach service to get me to Carlisle from Newcastle before 7:30am, and I live in a more rural area in Gateshead, which on a Saturday morning, the earliest bus doesn't depart until after 7am) before I reach to Whitehaven by a direct local bus, allowing me to arrive to my destination by before 10am for a major transport event.
This might not be the best idea, but I thought it's better for myself, plus the partner operator for my connecting Flixbus journey from Leeds is operated by Loch Lomond Travel Services (subsidiary of McGill's) and they're normally seem to great (in terms of how often they break down) with their reliable fleet of 2024 Yutong GT12's and 2021-2023 Volvo 9700's. I also thought if anything older than 2019, it could start to break down a little more often, depending on any operator's maintenance standards.
